Little Art Days at Graye’s

A weekly gathering for young children and caregivers to create, explore, and connect.

Come and play on Thursdays!

A weekly art and nature play class for preschoolers and caregivers held inside Graye’s greenhouse. Children creatively explore with art materials while noticing plants and seasonal changes. Includes art exploration, story time, and relaxed social time for families.

Our spring session will focus on growth and change, looking closely at how plants come to life and how the season supports that transformation. Through art, observation, and play, children will explore themes such as new growth, plant textures, seeds, and the small changes that signal the arrival of spring.

The spring session is underway, but be sure you are on our mailing list if you want to hear about the next opportunity to join.

Our Process

Curiosity

Children explore materials such as natural found objects, clay, and paint while observing plants, patterns, and seasonal changes around them. Activities are designed to be open-ended, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and hands-on discovery rather than focusing on producing a specific craft.

Rhythm

Each class follows a gentle rhythm: children begin with open-ended play using simple natural materials, followed by a short story or song that introduces the day’s theme.

Exploration

From there, families move into a studio-style art investigation inspired by what they notice in the greenhouse, the garden, or the season. A short scavenger-style noticing activity invites children to explore the space before everyone gathers for a relaxed snack and social time.

Linger

Families are encouraged to linger, explore the greenhouse together, and enjoy a creative morning in a warm and welcoming environment.
