Bromeliads
Light
Depending on the variety and coloring, bromeliads can thrive in indirect to bright light. They will do well in a sunny window, a well-lit room, or under some lights if in a dimmer corner.
Water
Bromeliads have rather shallow roots and can easily be over-watered if they don’t have good drainage. Water about once a week. The plants will likely hold some water in little pools- they may even house a little critter now and then!
Soil
Use a chunky well-draining mix.
Pro Tip
Bromeliads make babies or “pups” at their base, which can be separated to make more plants once they have all the traits of the mama and have a few roots of their own.
Pet Safety
Bromeliads are non-toxic, so they are safe for your pets!
